Constricted Portico Opening April 15, 2003 |
This was an important part of our unique dome design, a constricted airform entryway. We created the portico with this construction method in mind during the engineering phase. The wooden forms will stay in place until after shotcrete, then we'll cut out the arches on each side and the main archway in front. This will save us many hours and still be an intrinsic part of the dome structure.

The design is unique and makes our home special. We will echo this shape of archway in our windows and door openings.
