PROJECT PHOTOS Windows, part 2 May 13, 2008 |
| Billy continued working on the windows, using the STO synthetic stucco
product we've got on hand. Lots of foam work to take out the wrinkles and
seal the trim up against the dome. We went through six cans of foam to foam
ICF foam to get the deep wrinkles filled. He'll cover them later with STO to
match the rest of the dome. It has been really hot while we have been
completing these projects. We have to take lots of water and cooling breaks.
He has been working between 5 different windows and doors. Each one is unique because the curve of the dome is different in each case. Each trim piece has to be measured in place to achieve a tight fit. After the trim is in place he can begin using the STO full strength to stucco around each window to make it as organic looking as possible. He wants to cover every seam and wrinkle eventually. It just takes a lot of time to apply it in two coats, it takes a day to dry enough to add the next layer.
