Finally got the shotcrete started. Billy and David Bachman worked for five days applying the heavy mix to the walls of the dome. The local ready mix company would only deliver one mix that they would guarantee. 3/8 minus, two inch slump, pump mix, is what they use in this area. After calling all the pump companies in the area, we could only find a five inch pump we had to reduce to the two inch nozzle. This caused many delays and breakdowns while pumping, because of clogging at the reduction. The mix was inconsistent and had many large rocks leftover from other jobs. We sprayed a total of 50 yards. David from Midwest Monolithic did a good job.
