Cleaning the rebar consists of hitting it several times with a large hammer and trying to make sure the rebar is clean enough to tie to. The 2nd floor rebar will support the entire 1000 sq ft area of the master bedroom suite and bath. This is bigger than our original house across the driveway. The ceilings will be up to 14' high over the bed! Lots of space and storage for our stuff.

The concrete is getting lighter color everyday while it is curing. It looks better than it did the first day after shotcrete. The sand coat helped a lot to even out the deep sections and make a more organic looking finish. Every day gets us further along toward the finish line.
