Our footing ring is 36" wide because of Florida's sandy soil. We also designed in a sloping outside feature that will help break the energy of the storm water as it comes off the dome surface.

Billy designed a two part form that would elevate the "raceway" so that it could be poured at the same time as the footing ring. That way it stays a monolithic pour, no cold joints.
