Dome Tour

October  18, 2003

We had a very successful day. We greeted over 520 visitors (some slipped through without signing in) so we think it was a little higher count. We had visits from dome enthusiasts from as far away as Orlando, Cocoa, Sanford, Tampa, Maitland, Venice, Sarasota, Brooksville, Davie, Pompano Beach, Longwood, Palm Springs, Winter Haven and Miami.

And from the local area: Boca Raton, Tequesta, Boyton Beach, West Palm Beach, Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, Port St. Lucie, Jensen Beach, Palm City and Stuart.

Our county commissioner Sarah Heard also stopped by to see the dome in person, she's been watching our site for about a year.

We are having a private meeting on Sunday with the people who want to build domes and want more in depth discussion than we were able to offer them on Saturday. There should be about 40 people coming.

All of our neighbors who have been eaten up with curiosity were able to come and see exactly what we've been building.  We got some good coverage from NBC Channel 5 and The Stuart News, many people had the front page in their hands on the tour. Another television station is coming today to get us some coverage - but no more tour information please! We enjoyed the day but most of us were hoarse at 5 pm.  We had visitors from 8:45 till after 5 pm.

Our friends really were just terrific to us on Saturday: Susan Chadburn, Will Serrano and Daniel and Denise Green.

One of our engineers was on hand ALL DAY - Sean Cooper from Stiles Engineering Group to answer questions. He will return on Sunday also with Stiles. One other friend - Larry Regier - was on site all day also, he helped answer questions and talked to dome enthusiasts, Larry will also come back on Sunday.
